President Ruto Launches KMTC Malava Campus, Boosting Healthcare Training in Western Kenya
His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, officially launched the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Malava Campus, a transformative educational investment funded through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).
The newly established campus features:
Two fully completed lecture halls ready for immediate academic use
A modern administration block housing 39 offices to support campus operations
An ongoing tuition block project comprising eight additional lecture halls, set to expand learning capacity significantly
This initiative marks a major milestone in strengthening healthcare education and access in the region, aligning with the government’s commitment to decentralize medical training and empower local communities.
“This campus will not only train future healthcare professionals but also stimulate socio-economic growth in Malava and beyond,” said President Ruto during the launch.
The KMTC Malava Campus is expected to serve hundreds of students annually, contributing to Kenya’s broader vision of universal health coverage and youth empowerment.
